Regarding this, the Indian Embassy said on its Twitter page, “The allegation that India interfered in the Sri Lankan presidential election issue is baseless. And this is reported based on speculation. We categorically deny this media report. All news related to this is fictitious. We reiterate that we do not interfere in the internal affairs of another country, in the democratic process,” it said.
