Ten EU countries speak out for the development of nuclear energy

by time news

Government officials from ten European Union countries have spoken out in favor of stepping up the use of nuclear power to protect European consumers from price volatility, Le Figaro reported.

The document was signed by representatives of France, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Finland and Slovakia.

In their opinion, nuclear power will protect the EU countries from volatility in the energy market, which is currently caused by the situation with gas.

“We have no other choice but to diversify our sources of supply, while trying not to increase imports of non-European energy,” the publication notes.
