The cost of purchased debts has doubled for collectors

by time news

The purchase of overdue debts is becoming more and more expensive for collectors: from January to the first half of October, the price of overdue loans doubled compared to last year and reached 12.3 billion rubles, or 10% of the size of the portfolio sold by banks. This follows from the calculations of the First Collection Bureau (PCB) and the National Association of Professional Collection Agencies (NAPKA), which reflect data on banks’ tenders for the sale of overdue debts. A year ago, collectors paid 6.8 billion rubles for the debts, while the purchased portfolio was larger in size – 148 billion rubles. Then the purchase price increased over 10 months by only 0.4 pp and amounted to 4.6% of the portfolio.

The growth in value is due to the fact that the volume of supply and its quantity are decreasing, says Pavel Mikhmel, managing director of PKB. For almost 10 months of this year, banks put up 123 billion rubles for sale. loans – this is 16% less than a year ago, and the number of contracts in the sold portfolios fell by 23% to 860,760 pcs.
