A decree published in the Official Journal at the beginning of August gives establishments a derogation regarding the hiring of people who do not hold the required qualifications.
Reduce urgency. While many crèches have been facing a shortage of staff for several weeks, a decree published at the beginning of August in the Official Journal allows them to modulate the current regulations on hiring in the early childhood sector, for collective crèches or kindergartens. The text, which is due to come into force on August 31, gives these establishments the possibility of recruiting people without the qualifications required so far.

Article 2 announces in particular “derogations from the conditions of diploma or experience set (who) may be granted in favor of other persons, in consideration of their training, their past professional experience, in particular with children, their motivation to participate in the development of the child within a team of early childhood professionals and their ability to adapt to a new professional environment. Anyone newly hired “(will benefit) support in employment, called an integration course, during their first hundred and twenty hours of professional practice”, also clarifies Article 3.
According to a study by the National Family Allowance Fund (Cnaf) in early July, 48.6%, among 8,000 structures, indicated that they were short of staff. A committee appointed by the government on the issue had already recommended an increase in the number of training places a few weeks ago. The poisoning of a baby in Lyon (Rhône), last June, had also put a spotlight on the shortage of labor in this sector.
