New Delhi: Flipkart has been fined Rs 1 lakh for allowing substandard pressure cookers to be sold on its site. This has been imposed by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA). This was confirmed by the chief commissioner of the commission, Niti Khare.

In today’s digital world, people have the facility to buy what they want online at their desired time. E-commerce companies help in this. Flipkart is one of the most popular e-commerce companies in India.

About 598 substandard pressure cookers have been sold to consumers through the Flipkart platform. It is reported that the commission has ordered recall of the sold cookers and refund of the amount paid by the consumers.

Similarly, earlier this month, the commission had issued an order to recall about 2265 substandard domestic pressure cookers sold by Amazon and hand over the amount to the consumers.
