An Ethiopian Airlines flight was flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet when both pilots fell asleep and were unable to land as planned.
Both pilots of a Boeing 737 flying from Sudan to Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa fell asleep with their autopilot set to fly.
As a result, the plane passed the Addis Ababa airport runway without landing. The air traffic control room officials have made several attempts to contact the pilots, but the pilots have not responded.
The pilots woke up after the autopilot disconnected and the alarm sounded, landing the plane 25 minutes late.
