‘Rahul against Modi’ is a failed model; No need for grand alliance: Trinamool Congress Narendra Modi | Manorama online

by time news

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress says there is no need for a nationwide grand alliance to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Mamata Banerjee’s party is of the view that a grand alliance is sufficient only in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Assam is also likely. But the TMC is of the position that there is no need for a grand alliance to oppose the BJP in other states. ,

Narendra Modi Vs Rahul Gandhi

Trinamool sources said that Rahul Gandhi’s model as a rival to Narendra Modi has failed and will not be followed in the next elections. Instead, PM Modi has to clash with the powerful leaders of the regional parties in the respective states. The Trinamool claims that this move is necessary to eliminate ‘vote killers’ in the Congress’s struggle in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Mamata will contest alone

Mamata Banerjee has stated that the Trinamool Congress will contest all the 42 seats in Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Trinamool leaders say that things are clear from the party president’s message itself. Trinamool’s side is that the major opposition parties in all states should face the BJP. But it is not clear whether he talked about this position with Congress or otherwise.

“Except in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, there is no need for a grand alliance. Mamata Banerjee herself clarified this on the stage on July 21. I will do whatever I can to defeat the BJP. Then everyone will be brought together” – Trinamool leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien said.

According to this theory of Trinamool, parties like AAP in Punjab and Delhi, DMK in Tamil Nadu, TRS in Telangana, Trinamool in Bengal and Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party should fight against BJP.

Who is the leader of the grand alliance?

If the grand coalition comes, the question will arise as to who will be its leader. Mamata will not be able to emerge as the general leader of the opposition during the proceedings of the central agencies by lining up the party leaders and ministers. Other parties are also not able to highlight. Mamata also does not want to elevate the leaders of other parties like that. Therefore, it is considered easy for Mamata to take the position of letting them contest in their respective states.

Meanwhile, state parties can fight in their states under this policy. But the question they are raising is why a national party like Congress, which has various organizations and activists all over the country, should withdraw from the war front.
