Islamabad: Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has given advice to Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who continues his brilliant batting form in all formats of cricket. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has faded in all formats of cricket, should not expect support from the BCCI and Indian fans either from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) or the Pak fans. Babar should not think that he can remain as Pakistan’s hero forever. “There is no question that Babar will be hanged and thrown out of the team if he is out of form,” said Danish Kaneria in an interview granted to the sports media.
Kaneria says that it is true that Pakistan has not developed a future captain and Shan Masood is a talented player to emerge as such. Kaneria also said that despite being dropped later, Shan Masood led Multan Sultans in a good manner in the Pakistan Super League. Kaneria says that even though there are many talented players, the Pakistan Cricket Board is standing in the way for them to emerge as top players. Kaneria says that only God knows why the Pakistan Cricket Board gave a chance to the likes of Salman Ali Agha when there were talents like Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel.
Kaneria commented in a YouTube video that the Asia Cup will be crucial in changing Virat Kohli’s career. Kohli will have to think carefully about how to come back. Kaneria also said that Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill are waiting for the opportunity. Kohli has scored 3308 runs in 99 matches and has played the best innings in Twenty20.
