Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Mohammad Shami has said that he thought of committing suicide three times. He shared this in an Instagram Live conversation with Indian team captain Rohit Sharma.

The 31-year-old Shami has played 60 Tests, 79 ODIs and 17 T20Is for India. Through this he has captured 386 wickets. In this case, he said this.

“Had my family not supported me at that time, my cricketing career would have been lost. Due to extreme stress and personal reasons, I thought of suicide three times during that time. I had no idea about cricket then. We lived on the 24th floor.

The family was afraid that I would jump from the floor. 2-3 of my friends are always with me. They told me at home to focus on cricket to come out of it. As they said, I started training at the cricket academy located in Dehradun.

He also shared about missing the IPL series due to an accident. Shami has not been included in the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup series.
