Ankara: Turkish pop star Gulsan, who made offensive remarks against religious schools in Turkey during a concert, was arrested, the country’s state news agency reported.
Singer and songwriter Gulsan Colakoglu (46) was taken into custody from his home in Istanbul. Gulsan, who apologized, denied the allegations during questioning. During a concert in Istanbul in April, Gulsan made a remark that one of the musicians in his band had gone to a religious school because of his deterioration. The video was circulated on social media demanding the arrest of the singer.
