Abu Dhabi: You can apply for a 5-year green visa to work and do business in the UAE on self-sponsorship from September 5. The opportunity is for experts in various fields, self-entrepreneurs and investors. It will include company directors, executives, engineers, professionals in science, technology and humanities, and technicians.
Spouse, children and parents of green visa holders can get visa for equal duration. Even if the visa expires, it can be renewed within 30 days. Foreign nationals will be issued a 60-day entry permit to enter the UAE and complete the green visa process.
Existing investors/business partners in UAE can also switch to green visa. They are currently on a 2-year visa. Green Visa will be issued considering the total investment amount. Self-entrepreneurs and freelancers with bachelor’s degree and earning not less than AED 3,60,000 (Rs. 77,89,956) over 2 years are eligible to apply. Must also have Freelancer and Self Entrepreneur License from Ministry of Manpower and Indigenization.
Super experts in 9 categories in the fields of science, law, education, culture and social sciences will be considered for green visa. Must have a bachelor’s degree earning AED 15,000 (Rs 3,24,581) or more per month and have a valid employment contract in the UAE. Green visa will be canceled for those staying outside the country for more than 6 months.
