APPLE has issued a sudden alert to owners of very old iPhones that must be updated. According to the company, anyone with an older model of iPhone needs to download the new update, and urgently.
According to The Sun report, for comparison, recent iPhones are running iOS 15.6.1 at the moment, so anyone with an old iPhone should download the new update as soon as possible.
If not, hackers can create malicious websites that hijack your device when you open it, which Apple has warned that the bug may have already been exploited by cyber crooks.

To install the new update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.. You can download and install the update via WiFi.
And if you can’t install the latest update due to storage space, consider deleting some files (but backing them up somewhere else first).
Apple is also offering the update to many other older devices, including the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, and iPod touch (6th generation).
This comes just a few weeks after APPLE issued an urgent alert to all users to install a new iOS update on their newer iPhones.
This update added a new protection against a hack attack that allowed hackers to take control of your iPhone. If you don’t install iOS updates on your iPhone regularly, the holes used by hackers will remain open.
Some older iPhone models no longer receive iOS updates, which puts them at a high risk of hack attacks, so owners are advised to upgrade as soon as possible.
For example, when the iOS 16 update arrives next September, the iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and the first generation iPhone SE will be cut off by Apple.
These devices were compatible with the current iOS 15.6.1 but won’t get iOS 16, so if you’re using iPhones older than that, you should upgrade to a newer model right away.
