Russia has updated the daily maximum for the number of new coronavirus infections. “Over the past 24 hours in Russia, there are 40,251 confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in 85 regions, including 3326 (8.3%) actively detected without clinical manifestations,” the operational headquarters for combating coronavirus infection said on Saturday. Experts explain the difficult situation with the coronavirus in Russia by the dominance of the more contagious variant “delta” and the low level of vaccination of the population.
