New Delhi: Adani Group Chairman and Indian Gautham Adani has overtaken Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people. His net worth is estimated to be around 155.7 billion US dollars

Gautam Adani is involved in industries like ports, airports, coal, power generation and real estate. He is 60 years old and hails from Gujarat state. He has been dominating the list of the world’s richest people for the last few years. Another Indian, Mukesh Ambani, is also among the top 10 in this list.

The reason for this seems to be that the shares of the Adani Group have taken off. Shares of his companies Adani Enterprises, Adani Transmission, Adani Total Gas, Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports, Adani Power and Adani Wilmar were reported to have gained between 4.97 and 3.45 per cent. The ascension took place on Thursday. Because of that, his property value has increased by around Rs.40,000 crore. So he has advanced to the second place in the list of the richest people of Forbes.

Elon Musk tops the list with around USD 273.5 billion. Bernard Arnold and Bezos are reported to be third and fourth respectively. People like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Mukesh Ambani, Larry Page, Sergey Brin are next.

Adani is ranked third on the Bloomberg Rich List. Rounding out the top two are Elon Musk and Bezos. Last August, Adhani became the first Asian to reach the third place on the world’s richest list.
