Three suspects in the attack on a man with a child in New Moscow plead not guilty

by time news

The three suspects in the attack on the father and child in the Novye Vatutinki microdistrict do not deny that there was a conflict between them and the victims, but deny that they threatened with a knife. They also do not plead guilty to attempted murder. A law enforcement source told TASS about this. Earlier, the Interior Ministry reported that police officers detained all four of the attackers. They turned out to be visitors from Orenburg born in 2000-2003.

“According to them, no one threatened the lives of the victims,” the source said.

The lawyer of one of the suspects, Roman Masyutenko, said that his client, during interrogation, denied the version that a knife was used in this fight. “My client Elnur Hasanov said that no one used a knife in the conflict. According to the investigation, Hasanov’s brother took out the knife. However, Hasanov himself does not confirm this, I believe that his brother adheres to the same version, ”said Mr. Masyutenko.

The defense claims that the conflict occurred due to the provocation of the injured party. “He and his brother and other suspects did not provoke a conflict. They claim that they were defending themselves, not attacking, ”said the lawyer. He noted that only a part of the video recordings taken by CCTV cameras at the store and at the crossing got into the media. When it is possible to see all the recordings, the public will have a more complete picture of the conflict, he added.

According to the main investigation department of the ICR in Moscow, four suspects are planned to be charged under Part 3 of Art. 30, pp. “A, c, g” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder). The investigation will check them for involvement in other crimes and send a petition to the court for their arrest.

The detainees are suspected of attacking two men, one of whom was walking with his four-year-old son. First, the police opened a case under the article on hooliganism (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Later, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to re-qualify the case for a more serious article – “attempted murder.” The ICR explained that the attackers had a piercing-cutting object and they created “a threat to the life and health of a young child.”
