The leagues across the continent have entered the national team break, and tonight (Wednesday) Scotland beat Ukraine 0:3 at Hampden Park in Glasgow, as part of the fourth round of the group stage in the Nations League.
The hosts got into more dangerous situations. In the 63rd minute Che Adams hit the crossbar from a great position and seven minutes later, the ball splashed into the box and John McGinn got to it first and scored from close range. In the 80th minute, Lyndon Dykes who came off the bench scored with a shot from Ryan Fraser’s pass, and seven minutes later, Dykes again scored with his head from another raise by Fraser to set the game’s result.
As I remember, the yellow-blues eliminated the British in the World Cup playoffs (which Scotland reached after beating Israel at home), but were eliminated against Wales in the decisive match and we will not see them among the 24 teams in Qatar.
In the next round, the Scots will meet Ireland, and then Ukraine again in the lock-out round of the Nations League. The Ukrainians, on the other hand, will play an away game in Albania next Saturday and then, as mentioned, they will host Scotland.
