Moscow: Protests have erupted in several Russian cities against President Putin’s order to mobilize 300,000 troops for the war in Ukraine. More than 1000 people have been arrested in 30 cities.
At the end of February, Russia launched a war against Ukraine, which decided to join the European Union. Many parts of Ukraine are currently under Russian military control. In this case, the United States and European countries have provided a large number of modern weapons in support of Ukraine. With these, Ukrainian soldiers have launched an offensive against the Russian army and are reclaiming lost territory.
As a result, Russian President Putin decided to continue the war in Ukraine on a much larger scale. In his speech to the nation yesterday on TV, he said, “The Western countries want to destroy Russia. This has led to a massive war in Ukraine against Western weapons. Start the war with 20 lakh soldiers. A part of this I have ordered to mobilize about 3 lakh people from the Russians. Prepare for a nuclear strike to protect Russia and its borders. “The plan to connect parts of Ukraine with Russia has also been approved,” he said.
During World War II, young people in Russia were mobilized to fight against Nazi Germany. After that the order is now given to mobilize the people for war. In this case, there has been strong opposition in Russia to the process of mobilizing people to continue the war in Ukraine. People went on strike yesterday in major cities. “One acts according to will. Let him go,” chanted a protester, indirectly attacking President Putin. 100 people were arrested during the protests in St. Petersburg. More than 1000 people were arrested during the protest in 30 cities. Russian authorities have warned people that they face up to 15 years in prison if they participate in the protest.
Some voiced support for the Russian president’s order to mobilize troops for the war in Ukraine. They also condemned the people who protested this move and recorded their comments.

Suspension of air ticket sales
All flights from Russia to neighboring countries including Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were sold out after Russian President Putin ordered the mobilization of people for the war in Ukraine yesterday. Turkish Airlines said that all flights to Istanbul have been booked until Saturday.
Following this, Russian airlines stopped selling air tickets to people between the ages of 18 and 65. People were shocked when they were informed that young Russians would be allowed to travel abroad only after obtaining clearance from the Ministry of Defense.
