The Taliban, who rule Afghanistan, have signed a deal with Russia to import fuel and wheat at a discount.
The Taliban government is struggling to feed the country’s population. This is the largest deal signed by the Taliban since they came to power.
Russia supplies one million tons of gasoline and diesel, half a million tons of liquefied petroleum gas, and two million tons of wheat annually.
The Taliban government is keen to enter into more long-term deals with Russia in the future.
