Kiev: Ukraine held talks with Israeli authorities regarding defense against Russian missile and drone attacks.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid spoke on the phone. Ukraine has asked Israel for a missile defense system. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that he had spoken to the Prime Minister of Israel regarding the serious situation in the country, the loss of life and the destruction of infrastructure, and asked him to provide a defense system.
Ukraine accuses Russia of using Iran-made drones in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia has denied this. Due to this, the European Union has imposed new sanctions against Iran. Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Wednesday that he will not sell weapons to Ukraine. Israel says it can provide a missile warning system, but Ukraine wants a system that shoots down drones. Israel is taking a cautious stance as it does not want to cut ties with Russia.
