A person who has recovered from a coronavirus remains at risk of re-illness for six months, although it is several times lower. This was announced on Tuesday, November 16, to Izvestia by an immunologist, General Director of Clinical Excellence Group LLC Nikolai Kryuchkov.

Thus, he commented on the decree of Rospotrebnadzor, according to which those vaccinated against COVID-19 or those who have recovered are not subject to isolation after contact with the sick for six months.

“If a person is ill, then within six months there is also a risk of re-illness, although there is a 75-80% chance that he will not get sick. But after six months, the immune defense drops sharply and the risk increases significantly, ”the immunologist explained.

Kryuchkov recommended that those who had just been ill or vaccinated and had close contact with a sick person go into self-isolation “for at least eight days.” In addition, after 8-9 days after contact, it is better to pass the PCR test, and you also need to remember to wear masks and maintain social distance, the expert concluded.

The Rospotrebnadzor document comes into force on November 17. According to the decree, the sanitary and epidemiological rules for the prevention of COVID-19 are being extended until 2024. Rospotrebnadzor also approved the delivery time of materials for analysis for coronavirus – it should be no more than 24 hours from the moment of selection.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the Russian Ministry of Health approved the vaccination certificate form. In the order of the department, it is indicated that the QR code for patients with COVID-19 and at the same time vaccinated citizens will be valid for six months after the illness.

Against the backdrop of a worsening epidemiological situation, the Russian authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated in order to protect their health and take care of their loved ones. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
