Bengaluru team won the state level football tournament held at Kodaikanal.

Kodaikanal N.F.T. The fifth annual state-level football tournament for the boys team began on Friday at the Government Higher Secondary School Sports Ground in Munchikal, Kodaikanal.

57 teams from Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Karur, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Trichy, Theni played in the 3-day tournament.

Kodaikanal and Bengaluru teams clashed in the final. In this, Bengaluru Karoo team won with the score of 1-0.

A prize giving ceremony was held after that. Kodaikanal Football Association President Rogan Sambabu presided over the event. Karthi, president of the Rotary Club, presided.

Chairman of Kodaikanal Cabinet Chellathurai and Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Mayak Kannan who were present as special guests gave prizes to the first winning team of Bengaluru Garoo. Summer Dominates team lost to Senpaganur and Benedik team lost to Theni and got 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Prem was adjudged as the best goalkeeper, Akash as the best sportsman and Mohan as the best blocking player. Football players from Kodaikanal areas were given scholarship for college studies. Napoleon thanked the NFD team.
