Warsaw,

Following Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the European Union and NATO countries are strengthening their defense logistics. In that way, an agreement was made last May 2021 to buy the unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) called Pyrectar DB2 from Turkey and connect them with the Polish army.

A total of 24 unmanned aerial vehicles and their ground control units were contracted to be delivered in 4 installments. According to this, the first installment of 6 Piraktor drones has been handed over to the Polish Army.

Polish Defense Minister Marius Blaszak said, “The opposition criticized the government for purchasing these drones. But when we see what is happening in Ukraine now, it is clear that we need to strengthen our security. We will do everything necessary for the security of Poland.”

It is reported that these drones will soon be integrated into the Ukrainian army and put into use. At the same time, Poland became the first EU and NATO country to receive Turkish-made drones.
