Kyiv ∙ President Volodymyr Zelensky says that Russia’s ‘energy terrorism’ is taking place in Ukraine. He said that Russia is trying to dominate the people of Ukraine by keeping them in the dark. Zelensky’s remarks came in the context of Russian attacks on major power plants.
About 45 lakh people in Ukraine are suffering without electricity due to the attack of the Russian forces. Zelensky stated that Russia is making such moves because it has not been able to fight directly and this shows its weakness.
Russia has carried out massive missile and drone strikes targeting power stations in major cities. A third of the country’s power grid was destroyed in the attacks in the past few days. Zelensky said that Russia changed its strategy when it realized that Ukraine could not be defeated on the battlefield.
