Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Under the picture posted by Education Minister V. Shivankutty on Facebook, a young man commented, ‘Comrade, should you reduce your stomach a little?’ Sanoj Thekekkara made the offensive comment.
The minister immediately came forward with an answer. ‘Body shaming is seen as the most heinous thing these days. This world belongs to everyone. “Don’t make fun of anyone because of their body or anything else,” was the reply.
With this, the young man came forward with an apology. “I’m sorry if you feel body-shaming about getting a tummy tuck. Diabetics must take care of their health. Do not stop exercising. Just control your weight. I have to comment like this because you have not been paying attention to your health lately. As a member of your constituency, it is also my duty” – replied Sanoj.
