Aishwarya Lakshmi revealed that she auditioned for the role of Bommi in Soorarai Potter. The actor said that he was not suitable to be Bommi and the way he spoke Tamil in Madurai style was not right. Aishwarya Lakshmi said these things in an interview given to Cinema Vikadan.

Later Aparna Balamurali played the role of Bommi. Aparna also won the Desia Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film

“I had already auditioned for the role played by Aparna in Soorarai Potril. But didn’t get it. Because one wasn’t right for me. And the way I spoke Madurai Tamil was not correct. It was later seen who got the role.

I was very happy when I heard that Aparna Balamurali got it. She is a brilliant actor. After she did that role, I couldn’t think of anyone else for that role. The way Aparna performed was beautiful. Their chemistry was also fire,” said Aishwarya Lakshmi.

Gatta Gusti is Aishwarya Lakshmi’s new Tamil film. The hero is Vishnu Vishal, who is famous among the Malayalis through the movie Rakshasan. The last movie released in Malayalam was Kumari. The film was directed by Nirmal Sahadev.
