Mumbai ∙ It is reported that famous television actress Veena Kapoor (74) was killed by her son following a property dispute. In the incident, the police arrested his son Sachin Kapoor and his domestic servant Lalu Kumar Mandal. Veena was killed by repeatedly hitting her on the head with a baseball bat.
The incident took place in Juhu, Mumbai. Police said that after the murder, the body was thrown in the river with the help of the housekeeper. The body was washed in a forest river 90 km away
Veena and Sachin have had a property dispute for a long time. On December 6, the security personnel of Kalpataru Sesity, where Veena lived, informed the police that they were missing. He confessed by questioning his son.
Sachin told the police that he got into an argument with his mother regarding property worth 12 crores and in anger, he hit her on the head and threw her body into the river.
