Good news, Elden Lords: Director Hidetaka Miyazaki wants you to know there are “several more” on the way to the Elden Ring…and he has “more exciting games than [Elden Ring]“Up his sleeve, too.
Miyazaki said in his 2022 Game Awards acceptance speech, in which Elden Ring was presented with the prestigious Game of the Year award, that the win “really encourages” the team and thanked George R.R. Martin for his “great legend of this game.”
Miyazaki said:
“We went through a lot of hardships developing this game, so as a director, I feel really good. And maybe it’s not the right thing to say, you know, on the occasion of receiving a GOTY award, but I did it in my head to make more exciting games than this.
“For the Elden Ring, we still have so many other things we want to do, so getting this GOTY award really encourages us.
Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the fans who played, enjoyed and supported this title. We make the games we want and do the best we can because of you. Thank you very much.”
