Exemption cancelled; Those arriving in the UAE on visitor visas must now leave the country to renew their visas

Abu Dhabi | Travel agencies have informed the Department of Immigration that those arriving in the UAE on visitor visas must leave the country to renew their visas. This applies to those renewing visitor visas from emirates other than Dubai. The same law was in place earlier but relaxation was allowed due to Covid. That has now been cancelled.

Meanwhile, those who have arrived in Dubai Emirates on a visitor visa do not need to leave the country to renew their visa. Instead the visa can be renewed by paying additional amount.

Those arriving in the UAE on a visit visa usually rely on Oman. With the coming of the new law, various travel agencies have announced special packages for going to and from Oman.
