Sharjah: Expatriates arrested for stealing from many shops in Sharjah, UAE. Sharjah Police arrested five Asian youths for theft.

The gang was arrested for robbing supermarkets and mobile shops. The gang mainly stole laptop, mobile phone, watch, tab and cash. Those arrested were handed over to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings.

They have been charged with a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison. Col. Faisal bin Nasser, deputy chief of police criminal investigation department, said that security will be strengthened in Sharjah. He said that the shopkeepers should take care to strengthen the security measures like installing high-quality CCTV system in the shops, securing the doors, not leaving large sums of money in the shops at night and keeping valuables in safe places.

Meanwhile, four expatriates who stole from 15 houses under construction in the UAE were arrested a few days ago. They were produced in the Ras al-Khaimah court and sentenced to imprisonment and deportation from the UAE after completion. The method of the accused was to earn money by selling the stolen goods.

Only houses that were almost completed were selected for theft. After jumping the wall, breaking the doors and windows and entering, wires, electrical equipment and water pumps were stolen. The goal was to have items that were valuable but not too heavy. After receiving complaints of theft from 15 houses under construction, the authorities appointed a special team of Criminal Investigation Department officials to investigate the incident. During their investigation, crucial evidence was found that would reach the accused.
