The police also stated that they arrested five people in connection with the incident, including a minor. Five pieces of firearms were also confiscated at the scene.

Local authorities indicated that the FBI would assist local police in investigating the incident.

Senator Bob Casey, who represents Pennsylvania in the Senate, confirmed that his office is in contact with local officials about the incident.

In turn, State Governor Josh Shapiro expressed his regret that the incident occurred during Eid, stressing his solidarity with the Muslim community in Philadelphia.
