A pedophile secretly obtained a passport and used it to go on holiday to Bulgaria with an unsuspecting family. They were unaware of his previous convictions.
Andrew Prydey has 71 offenses and is on the sex offenders’ register for life. This obliges him to inform the police of all passports in his possession and of his plans to travel abroad at least a week before departure.
The shameless criminal applied for and received a passport in January 2021, but during subsequent annual registration returns told police he did not have one, the Daily Mail reported, citing Swansea Crown Court
This year, a well-intentioned family who knew Pridey offered him a bed in their holiday apartment in Bulgaria. The 61-year-old pedophile flew out of Cardiff Airport on June 17 and joined the parents and child for 7 days.
The father of the vacationing family later told police he felt “bad” and was “physically shaken” when he learned of Pridey’s past convictions. On his return to the UK the defendant was arrested and subsequently gave explanations that were largely “no comment”. It was also established that he has a phone that he did not report to the police, reports BGNES.
In the past, Priday has lied about his previous sex crime convictions – including to the woman he was supposed to marry. A judge at Swansea Crown Court said Pridey’s latest breaches of the terms imposed on him were “decided and cunning”.
Pridey, of Daifatty, Swansea, pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching a sex offender prevention order and three counts of failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offender registration scheme when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.
