The SRC informs that even the smallest deviation of the rules of economic activity is immediately noticed by operatives of the State Revenue Committee. This time, the attention of the Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence was attracted by the announcement about an unregistered painkiller and vital active supplements in Armenia on the VITAMINNER.COM page of the Facebook.com social network. The prices of the goods, the lack of stamps and delivery addresses have raised doubts.
As a result of the operative-investigative operations, the regional department No. 7 of the Department of Public Security found out that the mentioned page of the social network belongs to a resident of Yerevan. Preparatory and verification works were followed by complex operative and investigative measures. Going to a direct transaction with those involved in a suspicious business and posing as a buyer, the employees of the department purchased 12 boxes of “ADVIL” medicine, not registered in Armenia, in cash and revealed the real scheme.
It was found that after receiving the order, the citizen A.K. purchased goods from the “AMAZON” online store-platform through electronic payment and transported them to Armenia. In December 2020, the citizen also created the “VITAMINNER.COM” Facebook page and sold 385,000 drams worth of vitamins and medicines by June 2021.
According to the RA Law “On Licensing”, trade in medicines in RA is subject to licensing. Meanwhile, the citizen, not having state registration and not being registered with the tax authority, carried out business activities subject to licensing.
Operative-investigative operations are being carried out in order to fully clarify the damage caused to the state.
The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence reminds that, currently, online traders have several options for documenting the sale of goods. If before they were obliged to issue only a tax invoice and a certificate of invoice, and the receipt of the control cash register was not considered an accompanying document, now this option is also allowed. In addition, in accordance with Article 380.1 of the RA Tax Code, the electronic cash register tool was introduced.
The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence of the SRC assures that any deviation of economic activity from the limits of legality is under the observation of the department. All attempts of violations in the virtual or real domain will be prevented.
