Investigative bodies of the Eastern Interregional SUT TFR in connection with the emergency landing of the Airbus 321 of the S7 airline on December 2 in Irkutsk opened a criminal case under the article “Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.” According to the press service of the department, within the framework of the pre-investigation check, the actions of the crew members will be assessed.
“It was preliminarily established that on December 2, 2021, at about 13:00 local time, an Airbus 321 aircraft, en route from Magadan to Novosibirsk, made an emergency landing at the airfield in Irkutsk. There were 202 passengers on board, including three children and seven crew members, no injuries were reported, ”the message says.
As Kommersant previously reported, the crew of the airliner, when departing from the airport of the city of Magadan, noticed icing on the surface of the wings and air intakes, which subsequently turned off the autopilot. The board was unable to return to the airport of departure due to the changed weather conditions. As a result, the crew made a decision to land in Irkutsk, at the airport of which a successful landing was made.
