A story that unfolds between the present, the memory of the past and the dream: these are the cornerstones of the life of a great artist, Eleonora Abbagnatoprotagonist of the documentary film broadcast on Friday 29 March in prime time on Rai3. Directed by Irish Braschi, “Eleonora Abbagnato – A dancing star” it is a journey full of emotions that shows the power and effort of dance through the story of one of the most important icons of dance, étoile of the Paris Opera and today director of the corps de ballet and of the dance school of the Opera Theater From Rome.

The narrative starts from her last show in the famous Parisian theater, when Eleonora’s memories of an artistic journey that lasted almost 30 years emerge and alternate with each other in continuous references between yesterday and today. And precisely on that magical evening the element of the dream becomes disruptive, which is nothing other than the representation of an art, dance, of which Eleonora was a maximum expression. So we see her dancing to the song “Nuvole in fiore”, by the pianist and composer Dardust, who accompanies her on the piano in her performance. And always during the game between present and past, the choreographies are also performed by her daughter Julia, who plays Abbagnato as a young girl.

This intimate and personal story, developed as a sort of dialogue with the public, includes the voices and testimonies of friends and people with whom Eleonora has collaborated, such as Vasco Rossi, Claudio Baglioni and Ficarra & Picone.
