German Jurgen Klinsmann, South Korea’s coach, expressed his happiness with the Korean team’s qualification to the semi-finals of the Asian Cup after beating Australia (2-1).
Klinsmann said in the press conference after the match: “We deservedly won after we played with the utmost strength, and we turned our deficit into a valuable and deserved victory.”
He added: “We were the best in many times of the match, and we achieved the victory that put us in the semi-finals against the Jordanian team. We played strong matches in the tournament, and we played extra time in two consecutive matches, and despite that, the level of physical performance of the players was outstanding.”
Regarding the absence of some influential elements in the national team in the next match, Klinsmann explained that he will work to find solutions despite the influential absences, especially in the midfield.
He pointed out that “the Korean people dream of winning the championship after an absence of 60 years, so in some matches the players suffer from some pressure, but the technical staff always works to encourage them to perform with great focus, while dealing with the course of the matches calmly.”
