A disaster worse than Covid; Will have a far-reaching impact: Renji Panicker

by time news

Kochi – Filmmaker Ranji Panicker says that the Ernakulam Brahmapuram fire is a tragedy that will have far-reaching effects on the history of Kerala. Ranji Panicker said that it should be checked whether the vigilance on the part of the judiciary came from the executive and this is a crime against lakhs of people. His response was in the Manorama News Liveathon.

“No matter how many tragedies we see, we learn nothing. It does not refer to any party or administration. It is a problem of society in general. The chief minister and others have gone to many countries and learned about waste management. But there needs to be an examination of our systems not learning this and not being able to implement it in Kerala.

It seems that this is a worse disaster than covid. The sight of many people struggling day and night to put the Brahmapuram on fire for the past more than a week is terrifying. We don’t know how to deal with such a disaster. “If we don’t have a system for so many days, then how dare such a huge mountain of garbage has surfaced in the heart of the city,” asked Ranji Panicker.

“Even I, who live kilometers away from the fire, have been unable to come out and breathe air for a few days. This is the biggest and far-reaching disaster in the history of Kerala,” said Ranji Panicker.
