Two researchers from l’Institute of Biomedical Research of Girona (IDIBGI) has launched a company dedicated to creativity of digital tools for diseases that require an immediate response. Myosafe is the name of the new company and it has the collaboration of the Josep Trueta hospital in Girona, the Jordi Gol University for Primary Care Research and the University of Girona. The study was led by doctors Jaime Aboal and Rafael Ramosboth IDIBGI researchers. Aboal is also a Trueta scientist, while Ramos is researcher at IDIAP and professor at UdG. Myosafe will allow to speed up the response process by health workers when a situation arises that requires a quick response.
A successful example of this type of technology is the ‘Odisea’ tool that repairs the management of impaired myocardial infarction from the moment the person gives the warning signal. This facility has been recognized with six awards from cardiac societies and public institutions for its innovative behavior in the management of heart attack codes using telemedicine tools.
It should be noted that the previous hospital treatment of the patient it covers everything that happened until the person was taken care of. This includes transportation to a health facility or checkup. This stage is “decided” to make a good prognosis and the evolution of the pathology of the heart, especially if it is a serious clinical problem, i.e. a disease that begins quickly and unexpectedly, such as a heart attack of the myocardium.
IDIBGI hopes that this new application will serve to position the Health Region of Girona as one of the driving force when creating an entrepreneurial fabric dedicated to health.
