While artificial intelligence has just won its first literary prize in China, the French self-publishing house Librinova is joining forces with the Human Creation Label to certify the authenticity of future books.

As “organic” means “non-chemical” in food, this label will soon mean “non-artificial” in creation (literary at least). It must be said that in recent months, thanks to the development of self-publishing, books written with artificial intelligence have been raining down. Amazon’s platform, Kindle Direct Publishing, is swamped with it.

To respond to this scourge, the self-publishing house Librinova announced that it has joined forces with Label Création humaine, a company launched in 2023 to certify that a work (written, audiovisual or musical) has been produced by a human brain .

This service, first offered to Librinova authors from mid-January, seeks to convince other publishing houses and will allow the label to be affixed to the cover of a book if the author wishes.

With 9,000 titles published since its creation in 2014, Librinova is one of the most prolific publishers in France, although it does not benefit from the visibility of traditional houses.
