Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the Awami League government wants friendship with foreigners. However, if someone wants to come to rule, he will not accept it.
At a press conference at the Awami League president’s office in Dhanmondi in the capital on Tuesday (February 27) afternoon, he said, “We want friendship with a foreign friend.” And those who want to come in the role of Lord instead of friend, we do not accept the slavery of that Lord.
The bridge minister said that even in the last visit of the US delegation, they talked about advancing the relationship with Bangladesh. What they said last time, BNP has nothing to be optimistic about. They got nothing on the fall of Sarat, failure, action against the government. That is why they have adopted the strategy of keeping quiet.
Obaidul Quader said, hearing the broken record of lies of BNP leaders has made ears ring. Now their voices are a little less loud. The mouth poison has become more intense. Failure in their movement, failure in not coming to the polls – now this failure has made them careless and reckless. Their negative mentality is pressing on the government. which we do not see in reality.
Awami League General Secretary said, I don’t want to talk about the smell of conspiracy. BNP has no response now. Because, they said there will be no election. If there is an election, it will not last even five days. They did not get what they wanted from the United States. They wanted to hear that there would be a ban on the government. The visa policy will be imposed – went to a meeting with the US delegation with the dream. But they spoke their words. But the US delegation expressed their commitment to advance relations with Bangladesh on behalf of the US.
Obaidul Quader said in response to the question whether there is a fear that the people may go against the government due to the increase in commodity prices, the people of our country have proved that they are so provocative, so much agitation that Bangladesh will become a stormy sea – despite all this, the people were not lured to that picnic party rally. Not even prompted.
Obaidul Quader said that the people of the country keep the news of the whole world. All the news from around the world is researched in village tea shops. People understand that the government is not at fault here. The crisis in commodity prices in the world is not the only problem of Bangladesh. The prices of goods are increasing all over the world. Name one country in the world where commodity prices are normal. But our people still have the purchasing power. We hope that the supplies will be sufficient for next Ramadan as well.
Regarding the complaint that the price of beef is increasing due to extortion, the Bridge Minister said that there is definitely an issue of extortion. The Prime Minister himself has given a strong statement against this extortion. All concerned have been instructed to take action in this regard.
At that time, Obaidul Quader said in response to journalists’ questions about the repayment of Bangladesh’s foreign debt, there is no record of Bangladesh defaulting on its debt, and it will not happen this time either. However, the debt may increase.
