Meetings of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) began in Tbilisi, Day.Az reported on Saturday with reference to Trend.
The opening marks the official start of ADB’s annual meeting. The event is attended by a guest of honor from the organizing country.
ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa and Georgian Finance Minister and Chairman of the ADB Board of Governors Lasha Khutsishvili will make statements.
Note that the theme of the 57th annual meeting, which will be held from May 2 to 5, is “Bridge to the Future.”
The annual meeting provides ADB Governors with an opportunity to consider development issues and challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region. The meeting is regularly attended by several thousand participants, including finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, representatives of the private sector, representatives of international and civil society organizations, youth, academia and the media.
