All 190 people on board the plane, including six crew members, were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The front tire of the Corendon Airlines Boeing 737 exploded while landing at Alanya’s Gazipasa Airport around 11 a.m., TRT reported and later showed footage of the evacuation. Corendon Airlines is a Turkish leisure airline based at Antalya Airport.

The plane’s front gear was damaged, Gazipasa district governor Orhan Altun told TRT, praising the pilots for a “very successful landing maneuver”.

The runway was closed until the aircraft was removed, with incoming planes being diverted to Antalya Airport, about 170 kilometers to the west, TRT said. Investigation is in progress.

The incident happened a day after a cargo plane had to make an emergency landing at Istanbul airport due to an undercarriage failure.

Alanya is a district of the coastal province of Antalya, popular with Western and German visitors, especially during the summer season.
