A passenger sues El Al: “I was trapped in a chair and was seriously injured”

In the unusual lawsuit that was brought before the District Court in New York last week, the passenger claims that, as mentioned, he got stuck in the seat after lowering the seat back, was badly injured, needed medical treatment and is now suffering from great pain, agony and anguish.

According to that passenger’s claims, the flight attendants did not explain to him how the seat mechanism works, and according to the lawsuit documents, his lawyers rely on the Montreal Convention, which directs the airlines to be responsible for any passenger injury, unless they can prove that the injury was the result of the passenger’s own negligence.
