Residents of Ruse joined a petition for publicity of the report on the air measurement system and its improvement. The initiative belongs to the Civic Association “Breathe Bulgaria” and is aimed at the Minister of the Environment and Water, Petar Dimitrov, BNT reported.
In the signature, it is demanded that the MoEW, and in particular the Executive Agency for the Environment, publish the report, which establishes the state and problems of the air measurement system in the country.
“Any such information that concerns people’s health is, by law, public, but unfortunately the institutions refuse to publish it and do not respond to applications for access to public information,” said Ivaylo Popov from the “For the Earth” association.
He clarified that the organization he represents is conducting cases for this and is trying to exert public pressure on the subject. From there, they suspect that not all stations of the air measurement system are located in the right places and that not all of them are working efficiently.
On Saturday, the team visited Veliko Tarnovo, and on Monday it will be in Plovdiv. The idea is for the petition to cover the larger cities of the country.
