A representative of “Hamas” survived today in an Israeli strike in Lebanon, about 60 km from the border with Israel, said four sources in the field of security, quoted by Reuters.

Three people, including two civilians and one Hezbollah fighter, were killed in the strike, said the same sources quoted by BTA.

Local rescuers told AFP that the attack, which took place in the village of Jadra, south of Beirut, and targeted a car, killed a Lebanese vegetable seller and a Syrian on a motorcycle.

It is also not known if the Hamas representative was in the car at the time of the strike.

The Palestinian security source reported a “failed assassination attempt against a high-ranking Hamas official” but did not name him.

The strike was carried out much further into Lebanese territory than usual when Israel and Hezbollah exchange strikes in the border area, the agency noted.

The Israeli army has not yet responded to Reuters’ requests for comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said today it had shot down an Israeli Skylark drone that was “in good condition.”

Skylark is a small unmanned aerial vehicle typically used for reconnaissance and manufactured by the Israeli company Elbit Systems, according to Reuters.
