INTERVIEW – The presidents of Inserm and Inria are co-piloting a priority research program of 60 million euros. AI, databases, digital twins… They detail the project and explain to us what the challenges are.

As part of the France 2030 plan established two years ago by the government, aimed at making France “the first innovative and sovereign European nation in health”the pr Didier Samuel, Chairman and CEO of Inserm (National Institute for Health and Medical Research), and Bruno Sportisse, Chairman and CEO of Inria (National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology), met awarded the management of a priority research program (PEPR) dedicated to digital health. Endowed with 60 million euros, it will be officially launched on Wednesday at ParisSanté Campus. The two big bosses of French research present to the Figaro the challenges of this unprecedented initiative.

LE FIGARO. – What will the 60 million euros of the program that you run jointly be used for?

Bruno SPORTISSE. – Digital health covers issues that can be very different: digital in the healthcare system, in the hospital system, etc.
