The head of the Russian administration of the Zaporizhia district, Yevgeny Belitsky, said that the Russian forces will encounter tough resistance from the local resistance in the area, and because of this difficulties are expected in the occupation of the territories, which will be slower than expected.

Blitsky, who became the acting governor of the Russian-occupied part of Zaporizhzhia in October 2022, told one of the pro-Kremlin channels that the Russians are facing a difficult situation, when it comes to occupying the remaining parts of Zaporizhzhia.

“There is no way to conquer the region quickly,” Belitsky pointed out. “In order to pass through the streets safely, we will have to clear a lot of mines.” He also attacked the Western countries: “The USA and the European coalitions employ people and brainwash them with propaganda, after which they take up arms or are simply recruited into battle.”

Meanwhile, the fighting in Ukraine continues even more fiercely after a certain lull, with at least 40 dead already recorded in a Russian bombing of a residential building in Dnipro over the weekend, and dozens of people still listed as missing.
