In Russia, a unified cyber risk insurance fund may be created in 2025 in order to implement mechanisms for compensation of losses in the event of cyber incidents. Such a proposal was discussed in early September at the site of the Digital Economy ANO, a source familiar with the results of the meeting told Vedomosti. The discussion of the idea was confirmed by an interlocutor at one of the large cybersecurity companies.
According to one of the interlocutors, at a meeting at the ANO, market participants formed proposals on the main directions of the new national project “Data Economy”, which should be launched in 2025. The main parameters and targets of the national project must be approved by June 1, 2024 by the government, the corresponding President Vladimir Putin gave the order on September 4.
