Cristian Medina (21), a Boca Juniors player, was the victim of a violent assault on Tuesday night when he was with his girlfriend in the Buenos Aires town of Castelar. There, when he was about to arrive at his house, at least three thieves robbed his white Volkswagen Amarok truck at gunpoint and then escaped. However, his criminal raid did not end there: minutes later, while they were fleeing in the footballer’s vehicle, they stole another high-end van and disappeared, but not for the security cameras: this Thursday one of the suspects fell.

The arrest was made after a series of raids ordered by prosecutor Matías Rappazzo, from UFI No. 7 of the Morón Judicial Department, and the suspect was identified by sources in the case before Infobae’s inquiry as Andrés David Sendros (32).

The suspect was arrested at an address located on Morón street, in the Moreno district and they kidnapped six cell phones that will be examined in the coming days.

In addition, within the framework of the procedures ordered by the prosecutor Rapazzo, in the raid that was carried out on Camino de la Ribera at 200, also in Moreno, the Buenos Aires Police found a junkyard. There, a VW Gol Trend was hijacked that had been stolen on May 14, 2022 in Moreno, a Honda motorcycle stolen on February 1 in the City of Buenos Aires, a Toyota Hilux truck that had been stolen on April 18 in Merlo ; and a Volkswagen Gol that was taken four days after La Matanza.

Prosecutor Rappazzo ordered the seizure of all the vehicles and items found in the operations and issued the arrest warrant for an alleged Sendros accomplice, who was identified and who was being intensively sought.

Investigators were able to establish that after stealing the VW Amarok truck at the wheel of Boca Juniors and escaping with the footballer’s car and in a gray Ford Focus, they then stole a BMW X6 at the intersection of Intendente Ratti avenue and West Access, in Ituzaingó almost by chance.

As confirmed by judicial sources, the assault took place after the criminals, aboard the Medina 4×4, rear-ended a BMW X6 truck, which got in their way. Upon feeling the impact, the driver of this vehicle – who never imagined that it was a gang of criminals – began to pursue them due to the traffic incident.

To get rid of the problem, the criminals decided to stop their march, go down and take the BMW also at gunpoint. According to the sources consulted by this outlet, both the Amarok and the second truck were found hours later, abandoned in the town of Paso del Rey, in the Moreno district.

The survey of the security cameras established that upon arrival at Moreno’s party, the gang of criminals was joined by a Renault Clio in which Sendros and the fugitive accomplice were traveling, and from there arose the orders to search them.

The robbery to Medina

Last Tuesday, around 11 p.m., the soccer player and his partner were traveling through the intersection of Italia and Islas Malvinas streets. Armed, when the criminals got out of the Ford Focus and, after intimidating them, stripped him of the truck, personal documentation and other valuables.

The judicial sources consulted reported that both Medina and his girlfriend were unharmed and that the soccer player was not recognized by the criminals.
