On Wednesday, the All-Russian swimming competition “Reserve of Russia” started in Saransk, where Danil Bakai from Vologda also took part. In his age category – 15-16 years old – at a distance of 400 meters freestyle, the athlete set a new record for the Vologda region.
On the first day of the competition, a swimmer from Vologda covered the indicated distance in 4: 09.31. Another athlete, Ivan Kiselev, was supposed to represent the Vologda region, but he could not attend the competition due to illness.
The swimmers will compete in the “Reserve of Russia” until November 29, during which time the athletes will demonstrate 36 individual numbers, as well as perform in six relay races. According to the results of the competition, 42 sets of awards will be drawn.
On November 25, Danil broke his own record at a distance of 1500 meters, set on November 20, and swam with a result of 16:23:47.
