Omer Atzili has not yet signed his new contract with Maccabi Haifa, although he agreed first before Charon Sherry and Sean Goldberg who have already signed as we published. Following this, ONE learned that the reason for this is that Atzili has an offer from one of the top teams in the United Arab Emirates, who want him immediately and are willing to pay him a significantly higher amount than the new contract that awaits him in Haifa.
The team from the United Emirates is even willing to pay the champion the amount of the release clause that exists in the old agreement, and is estimated at several hundred thousand dollars. Maccabi Haifa are not ready to release any player in January except for Neta Lavi who was given a word on the matter by the team’s president, Yaakov Shahar.
The team is not ready to hear about the release of Dolev Haziza or Azili, so the latter is in no hurry to sign. Haifa understands that the release of one of them in addition to Lavi will seriously damage the team in the fight for the championship.
